Okay, make that really, really dissatisfied. In an article today in The New York Times, we find that, "Americans are more dissatisfied with the country’s direction than at any time since the New York Times/CBS News poll began asking about the subject in the early 1990s, according to the latest poll. In the poll, 81 percent of respondents said they believed “things have pretty seriously gotten off on the wrong track,” up from 69 percent a year ago and 35 percent in early 2002."

Correspondingly, approval ratings for President Bush and Congress are shockingly low. Just when you think Bush wins the prize at 28% approval the congressional approval ratings show up at 20%.

Gee, imagine that. Passing the blame. Who voted for these people? Who keeps reelecting them? Who decided that subprime lending was a great way to build bank revenue? Who decided that they wanted to buy a house even though they knew they couldn't afford it? Who keeps thinking nation building is a proper use of tax dollars and keeps electing nation builders to office? Who doesn't even know the issues when they wander into the election booth and starts casting votes simply upon party lines?

Ask not for whom the approval ratings toll, they toll for you.
